The Asian Restaurant Week and Awards celebrate restaurants in both Northern and Southern Ireland representing food from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, and cuisines from the South East Asian region.
The team behind the awards is former restaurateur and hospitality consultant Paul O’Connor and food writer and journalist Suzanne Campbell. Having established the
Irish Food Writing Awards with Suzanne in 2021, Paul felt it was time to throw focus on the huge South Asian food scene in Ireland.

The Asian Restaurant Week and Awards have been welcomed by food businesses looking forward to taking part.
Paul O'Connor writes
“Having been involved with Asian food businesses for many years the community was continually asking me to host something to celebrate Asian food in Ireland.
Indians in Ireland now make up one percent of our population but culturally they are very under-represented."
"So this restaurant week and awards celebrate the varied cuisines and culture of India
and countries in this region. I didn’t want to just do an awards, but something that would be
significant to the South Asian community, something to say thank you for coming to our land and making it a better place”
“The restaurant week will take place in early November and a very exciting new app is underway to to invite Irish diners to try what Asian food is local to them in their town or county. Restaurants will
benefit from group advantages and we have some very exciting partners on board.”
